Focus on the Present

Coverpage of the blog entry: Focus on the Present

Has it ever happened to you that your mind starts to wander into the past and the future?

As you know, we all have five senses in our body and each one generates a different function:

  • Like

  • Ear

  • Smell

  • Vista

  • Touch

If you start using any of these senses, your body and your environment will focus on the present, since mindfulness allows you and your stimuli to better understand those characteristics that preserve your objective.

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is when we deliberately direct our attention to the present moment. Typically, we overlook the events and things happening around us.

Goals

In order to focus on life, it is very important that one contemplates one's own goals as they give us a reason for why we pursue our goals, and what we want to achieve in our life.

Setting goals allows us to concentrate on what truly matters to us. However, it's essential to remember that to fully embrace the present, we need to be steadfast and not easily abandon or forget these objectives. When faced with challenges or difficulties, we should actively "look for solutions rather than waiting for them to appear on their own".

For instance:

  • Achieve a score of 9.5 in all subjects by implementing an organized system and improved study techniques consistently.

  • Enhance my three-point shooting accuracy within a month, hitting 2 out of every 3 attempts.

Setting goals allows us to concentrate on what truly matters to us, but it's important to remain committed and not lose sight of these objectives, especially in the face of challenges. When obstacles arise, we should actively pursue solutions rather than passively waiting for them to appear.

The steps about mindfullness

Additionally, practicing mindfulness not only sharpens our focus on the present but also enriches our everyday experiences, promotes inner calm, and alleviates stress.

By being fully engaged in the moment, we can savor the small joys that add depth and meaning to our lives.

Keep in mind that mindfulness is a skill that develops with time and regular practice. Start by dedicating a few minutes daily to conscious breathing, meditation, or simply observing your environment without judgment. With time, you’ll notice a clearer mind and a more balanced life.

In summary, embracing the present through mindfulness and establishing clear goals helps us uncover our purpose and leads to a more fulfilling and satisfying existence. Remember, the journey toward your goals may be lengthy and demanding, but every small step you take will bring you closer to realizing your dreams.
